Last post from Colorado, this time from a side trip made possible by my dad. We headed to a nearby botanical garden property that is a wedding venue, working farm and picnic spot down in southwest Denver.
Not sure what these old thin round silo’s were for
The main house was very stately, with gardens all around
And here is the rand that still functions on the property
Flax, as in flax seed
One of my favorite, here are many more
I wanted these to smell like jasmine, they didn’t
A white version of the purple flower above
Columbine, and my favorite color
Peony, just getting ready to bloom
These small flowers were all over the hillsides around the house
A type of balloon flower?
They had lots of benches around to have some lunch
As well as arbors and other picturesque settings
What happens when this tree gets too big for the benches?
After we got over this bridge, a wedding photo shoot kept us from exploring further. The thunderstorms started pouring shortly after, so it was all good
We even saw a small jackrabbit on the way out
Not sure what’s up next, but have lots of great pics from trips earlier in the summer.
